How can I be satisfied

When we eat each other to stay alive

We die for others to live

Happiness wound around sadness

Predator runs for its life same as prey

Is it life or death today

Are we old enough to say

Is this the game we have to play

Did I wake into a world where I’d rather stay asleep

Understanding the reluctance to learn is not so deep

Taking responsibility

Feeling empathy

To stop this tyranny of fate

Man I feel the weight

Pressing down on my mind

I’m not blind

The pain is innate

Cycling round this wheel

Being the fish the reel the man and the shiny bait
